The six types and what each one is for
White background is the compliance shot that carries the main-image rules. Lifestyle puts the product in use. Infographic carries specification callouts. Lifestyle context places it in its surrounding environment. Use case shows a specific scenario. Promo banner is marketing creative rather than a catalogue image. They are different jobs, which is why six near-identical angles is a wasted gallery rather than a complete one.
The main image is a compliance requirement
Amazon requires pure white — RGB 255,255,255, not off-white — with the product filling at least 85% of the frame and no props, text, watermarks or borders. A studio shot on a white sweep often lands at 250-252 in the corners and fails. This is the single most common reason a new listing never appears in search, and it has nothing to do with the copy.
Two things to check on any AI-generated product image
Does the text survive zoom? Most image models produce text that looks plausible at thumbnail size and falls apart when opened — misspelt words, invented letterforms. On an infographic that is the difference between an asset you can publish and one you redo by hand. And do the proportions hold? Scale drift is the other tell: a stretched strap, a mug sized like a bucket. A shopper who feels misled by a photo returns the item and says so in a review.
Image rules are not the same across marketplaces
Amazon and Walmart both want a white main image with different size and count requirements. Etsy actively rewards lifestyle and process imagery, where a pure white packshot often underperforms. eBay is far more permissive. TikTok Shop is video-first. Shooting one set and pushing it everywhere leaves you compliant on one channel and underperforming on three.

Is the white background image really main-image compliant?
The white background type is built to those rules specifically — pure white, product filling the frame, no props or added text. Always eyeball the corners of the final file before uploading, because compliance is judged on the file you submit.
How long are generated images kept?
A daily purge clears generated images on every plan including paid ones, typically within about 48 hours. There is no archive and no way to recover output afterwards, so download what you want to keep as soon as it appears.
Does this cover product video too?
Video is generated separately in the AI Product Video Studio and bills from a separate video balance — your monthly plan credits do not cover it on any plan. Paid plans do include a small monthly video allowance in that balance; Free includes none.
