What you get
What ListIQ Pro generates for Amazon
Formatted for Amazon specifically, not written once and pasted across marketplaces.
Title within the category cap
Keyword-led, front-loaded, and kept short enough to survive mobile truncation around 80 characters.
Five bullet points
Benefit-first rather than a spec dump, each inside the per-bullet limit.
Backend search terms
Byte-counted, de-duplicated against your title and bullets so nothing is wasted.
Product description
Plain-text description for the listing body, separate from A+ Content.
Category and attributes
Suggested browse node plus the attribute fields the category requires.
How Amazon search works
Backend search terms are the field nobody optimises
Amazon indexes a hidden 250-byte search terms field that shoppers never see. It is the cheapest ranking real estate on the platform and most sellers either leave it empty, repeat their title into it, or blow the byte limit and have the whole field silently ignored.
- 250 bytes, not characters — accented and non-Latin characters cost more
- No commas needed; spaces separate terms and commas waste bytes
- Never repeat words already in your title or bullets — Amazon indexes them once
- No competitor brand names, no subjective claims, no ASINs
- Exceeding the limit can void the entire field, not just the overflow
Field limits
Amazon listing limits
Output is written to these rather than to a generic template.
| Field | Limit | What that means in practice |
|---|---|---|
| Title | 200 characters | Common cap. Many categories enforce less, and mobile search truncates around 80. |
| Bullet point | 500 characters each | Five bullets. The limit is per bullet, not for all five combined. |
| Description | 2,000 characters | A+ Content is a separate system with its own module limits. |
| Backend search terms | 250 bytes | Bytes, not characters. This is the field most often wasted. |
Limits vary by category and change over time. Last checked . Our free character counter checks your text against them live.
Images
What Amazon expects from your photos
Six image types are available at 2 credits each, generated from a single product photo.
- Main image on pure white (RGB 255, 255, 255) — Amazon is strict about this
- Product fills at least 85% of the frame
- 1,600px on the longest side to enable zoom, which lifts conversion
- No text, logos, watermarks or props in the main image
- Additional images can show lifestyle, scale, packaging and detail
Common mistakes
What goes wrong on Amazon
Generated output is fully editable, and these are the things worth checking before you paste it in.
Keyword-stuffed titles now hurt
Amazon has tightened enforcement against titles that read as keyword lists. A stuffed title can be suppressed from search entirely, which is worse than ranking modestly for fewer terms.
Prohibited claims suppress listings
Words like 'cure', 'FDA approved', 'best seller' and most health claims trigger suppression. Review generated copy before publishing, particularly in supplements, beauty and baby.
The main image is a compliance issue, not a design choice
A main image with a prop, a border or an off-white background can get the listing suppressed. This is the single most common reason a new listing does not appear.
FAQ
Amazon listing questions
Which Amazon countries does the listing generator support?
Twenty Amazon country marketplaces, including the US, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Canada, Australia, Japan and India. You pick the country before generating, and the output is localised to it — spelling, currency and the character limits that country enforces. Listings are shaped to the destination rather than translated from one country's listing to another.
Will ListIQ Pro upload the listing to Seller Central for me?
No. ListIQ Pro generates the listing and its assets, and you paste them into Seller Central or your flat file. Direct publishing is in development and is not available today. Everything is editable before you paste it.
Does it write backend search terms?
Yes, and it counts them in bytes rather than characters, which is how Amazon actually measures the 250-byte field. It also avoids repeating terms already present in your title and bullets, since Amazon indexes those once and duplicates waste the allowance.
Can it create the main product image?
Yes. The white-background image type is built to Amazon's main image requirements: pure white background, no props or text, and sized to enable zoom. Lifestyle, infographic and use-case images are available for the additional image slots at 2 credits each.
Other marketplaces
Selling somewhere else too?
Each marketplace ranks on something different. These pages cover what changes.
- WalmartWalmart rewards short titles and complete attributes
- EtsyAll thirteen tags, or you are leaving ranking on the table
- eBayItem specifics decide Best Match, not your description
- TikTok ShopVideo is the listing, and the copy is the caption
- ShopifyThere is no marketplace algorithm — you are ranking in Google
