What is Listing suppression?

Listing suppression is when a marketplace hides a product from search results while leaving the page technically live. The listing exists, receives no traffic, and often generates no error message.

Why it matters

Common triggers on Amazon: a main image that breaks image policy, a missing required attribute, a prohibited claim in the copy, or a title that reads as a keyword list.

The silence is what makes it dangerous. Sellers frequently discover suppression weeks later while investigating why a launch produced no sales. Check the Fix Your Products report rather than assuming a live page is a visible one.

Prohibited claim language is a frequent cause in supplements, beauty and baby: words like cure, FDA approved and best seller trigger it.
