Invoice Generator: what actually matters
What an invoice has to contain
A unique invoice number, the issue date, your business name and address, the customer's name and address, a line-item description of what was sold with quantity and unit price, any tax shown as its own line, and the total payable. Most jurisdictions require your tax registration number where you have one. An invoice missing the number or the date is the one your accountant sends back.
Invoice numbers should be boring
Sequential and unpredictable are opposing goals, and for invoices sequential wins. Tax authorities in several jurisdictions expect an unbroken series, because a gap looks like a deleted invoice. Use a plain incrementing counter with an optional year prefix — 2026-0001 — and never reuse a number, even for a cancelled invoice. Issue a credit note instead.
Commercial invoices for cross-border parcels
A parcel crossing a border generally needs a commercial invoice attached for customs, and it requires more than a normal invoice does: the country of origin of the goods, a tariff code per line, and a declared value in a currency customs recognises. Understating the value to reduce duty is fraud, and the penalty falls on the sender.
Keep the invoice, not just the marketplace record
Marketplace order reports are not invoices and are not permanent. Payout reports get archived, and access ends with the account. Retention requirements run to six or seven years in many jurisdictions, which is considerably longer than most sellers keep a marketplace account open. Store your own copies.

Common questions
Is this a legal or tax document I can rely on?
It produces a correctly structured invoice, but it is not legal or tax advice, and requirements differ by country. If you are registered for VAT, GST or sales tax, confirm the specific fields your jurisdiction requires with your accountant.
Where is my customer's data stored?
Nowhere. The page holds it in memory in your browser while you are on it, and it is gone when you close the tab. Nothing is transmitted. Print or save the PDF before you navigate away.
Can I add my logo, or save my business details?
Not on this page — it is deliberately a single-shot printable invoice with nothing stored, which is why it needs no account. Does it handle VAT or sales tax properly?
It applies a single tax rate to the invoice and shows it as a separate line, which covers most cases. It does not handle mixed rates across line items, reverse charge, or marketplace-facilitator rules where the platform remits the tax on your behalf. For those, check with your accountant.
